Real-estate commission

Fees charged by the brokerage or agent who facilitates a sale or rental — typically 5% of the sale price, or one month's rent for rentals.

Standard Paraguayan real-estate commission on a sale: 5% of price, historically paid by the seller. For rentals, typically one month's rent paid by tenant or owner per agreement. Widely negotiated — on higher-value properties or competitive markets it drops to 3%–4%. Paid at closing, against signature of the boleto or deed depending on agreement. Commission is VAT-applicable. For buyers, hiring a brokerage adds no cost in a traditional sale (seller pays), but "buyer's agent" fees can be negotiated in complex deals.
